Weekly Update, May 2, 2020

Hello 2A Families,

Happy May!  I am hoping all of these showers we keep having will bring us some sunshine and flowers.  It was lovely to create the flower art project with so many of the students on Zoom on Friday (May Day).  I am enjoying the chance to see the students and give them an opportunity to interact with each other.  To help with the quality of the Zoom meetings, I will frequently use the “mute all” and “stop video” functions.  Students will still be able to see me and I will unmute them one at a time to share something with the class.  I will also try to limit how much I share the screen as I believe this may be impacting the quality of the meeting.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this together.

We will have one Zoom meeting this week on Tuesday, at 1:30 PM.  The link will post in Google Classroom at 1:00 PM on Tuesday.  I may also try to schedule group Zoom meetings later in the week to touch base with reading groups.  Stay tuned and I will send a separate email about that in the next few days.

There are three assessments this week (Math, Science, and Religion).  They will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.  You may want to plan a break for your child in between the two back to back tests on Thursday.

Mr. Ramseyer sent out a communication regarding Grading in the School Weekly Newsletter.  Please take time to review his post related to Grading.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.  I am happy to help support your child in this time of unique learning.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Blessings,

Mrs. Nicole Martin
